What is it?
The plugin is a 3d model viewer, created by Metastream circa 1998. The company is now called Viewpoint, and the plugin has since been superceded by the viewpoint plugin.
Why MTS2?
The MTS2 plugin allows the viewer to rotate, zoom and pan the model freely. It also allows for various rendering modes through the right-click context menu. Textures, smooth shading, wireframe can all be toggled on or off, so you can see the work behind the art. It also displays the polygon count in the top right corner. Essentially the models displayed in Metastream format have 'no secrets' behind them, so it's ideal for an artist to demonstrate their low-poly models.

You can download the plugin for Internet Explorer from the metastream site here. Or hosted locally Here.
Known bug and workaround
MTS2 is an old plugin, no longer supported by it's creators. Under windows 2000, the model can occasionaly disappear while being rotated by the user. If this happens, select 'home' from the right-click menu to make it reappear, or simply refresh the window. In Internet Explorer, just press F5.
